Dayton sits in Liberty County, just west of us on Highway 90. We're out this way all the time, and the yards here have a few things in common.
A lot of Dayton yards have thick, sticky clay a few inches down. It bakes hard in August and turns to soup after a good rain. We loosen and prep the ground before anything goes in the bed.
Much of the land around here is flat, and low spots stay wet for days. We put the right plants in the wet spots and save the fussy ones for higher ground.
Full afternoon sun on the west side of the house will cook the wrong plant by July. We pick things that are used to Southeast Texas heat, not a catalog picture.
Dayton keeps growing, and a new house often comes with plain dirt and one little tree. We start those yards from scratch, beds and all.
Older places here have beautiful oaks and pines. Grass struggles under them. We'll tell you honestly where sod will take and where a shade bed is the better answer.
Overgrown shrubs, mulch gone gray, weeds through the rock. We clear it out, keep what's worth keeping, and start it clean.
Three simple steps, and one phone call gets it started.
Dayton is a short trip for us. We walk the yard with you, listen to what's been bothering you, and give you a price in plain English. No pressure, ever.
Our crew shows up on the day we said. Owner Kaden Slankard is on the job, not just on the phone. We're licensed and insured.
Every bit of the mess hauled off, drive and walks blown clean. Then you step outside and look at your new yard.
